Maxspect Razor

Would 27 inch 160w 16000k work for a sps tank that is 48x18x20? Two 120w won't fit over my tank.

The 10,000k or 16,000k for sps/lps thank? I like to some pop on the colors.

You wont get good spread unless you hung the 160 much higher. Why wouldn't two 120w's fit? They are only 20.5" long.
 
If you hang the fixture high enough and increase the lighting it should be enough for a 48x24x20 tank. I just figured a way to get the light off at night but still have the moonlights at night. I am coming from 2 150 watt 14K MH DE bulbs. I will gradually ramp up the main 4 hours and eventually increase it to 5 hours.

TP1 8am A 0% B 1%
TP2 11 am A 10% B 20%
TP3 13:00 A 41% B 46%
TP4 17:00 A 41% B 46%
TP5 19:00 A 0% B 1%
TP6 22:00 A 0% B 0%

I get moon lights at night for 3 hours then no light till 8 am. This satisfies people that want moonlights and dark during the night.
 
Just wondering if there is any shadowing in the top corners when this is over a 36" tank using the mounting legs? Also, does anyone know if the optics are interchangable on the fixture?

Optics are not interchangeable. WIth it around 45% it is a little dim in the corners. If this was ramped up much higher it would be much brighter.

Do you think with the light running at 100%it will cover the entire width and depth with no shadow in the upper corners?
 
I'm looking to go LED and the razor has peaked my interest, i like the length of the fixture compared to those fixture that force you to use two units. my new reef is 30x30 x24 deep ,so coverage should be fine. I originally was going to go diy but i notice numerous price drops and sales on led fixtures on the net, which make diy not so appealing.
 
I just purchased the 120w unit and was able to take advantage of a Labor Day sale. I'm excited to see this fixture in person and will post pics when I do.
 
So the looks and colour rendition of the light itself, is no doubt, very good. I do have the light set up so that there is 100 % both A and B worked into the lighting schedule. As the light ramps up to this one will see the different levels of intensity which is very very nice!
From that you will then see where your adjustments need to be.

So how are the corals responding so far? Very well. After just over one week the colours on the sps are coming back fast. Especially my Calitort. This thing used to be very light purple under my 80 watt T5s. Now its becoming dark purple.
 
mike can you tell me about the controller i had the ai sol blues hated the controller im not a dawn to dusk guy i like to set the lights turn them on when i go to work come home and and be able to turn them down to the blues to see the corals pop the other concern i have with haveing the controler built in if the controller goes out the fixture is dust..to where haveing a controller seprate from the body you can just get another controller ty for the in put
 
The controller is simple. There are three different settings you can choose from. One is manual. You can turn off or on. You can choose A or B channels (white or blue). You can adjust intensities. Another setting is the pre programmed ( two choices ). Both really nice settings. You cannot change them.
The last setting is automatic. Which is programmable. You choose the best setting for you.
I had concerns about programming as well. I thought they were complicated. But really very simple. Check out the manual. You can find it the coralvue website.
