FANTABULOUS!!!!! They look very happy indeed. So what settings are you running on Mike? Are you useing a killa watt just to see how much that things actually drawing?

The Razor is a very interesting fixture. I'm wondering, however, if it can be updated as the Mazzara can, Will we be able to change the led's to new ones as they become available? Or, replace led's that burn out? Is it designed to grow as tech changes the way the Ai and Radion are?

As for settings I have the light ramping up to a maximum of 75 white and 89 Blue. And it's at this setting for four hours. Hoping to change to 90/100. I like the bluish colour. Much like the radium!
No video or pic will actually give true justice on the rendition unless it's done professionally. You can't base your judgement by the pics you see on these forums.

I am sure that thing is hard to photograph. Heck, even metal halide tanks can be a real pain!
So what are we missing?? All the other colors besides the blue? I am finally feeling comfortable about purchasing one and wanting one!

This fixture is missing the red which apparently helps with making the corals pop.
But it also has the super actinic at 410/420 nm that a lot of name brands do not have.
Highly required for the growth.

Well I just installed the 160w 16000k version on my 46 bow front and I am in love with it! I love that it has stands and I love how easy it is to program. Just set the time and set what preset you want. I picked the one with moon light and saved setting and done! I dont need a light that has a storm mode or plugs into my computer so I am happy with this one. The spread is perfect for a tank 36 inched wide. Way brighter then my 2 96watt pc and 150watt mh was and she shimmer and color pops way more. :inlove:

Sorry charo i will have to try to get a good pic tomorrow. My droid will not get a good pic of it tonight. I took a quick video for you as well seems to have some out a bit better. This is set at 100%. I will get some more videos when I get a chance too late to play around with the tank tonight but I love this thing I watched the sunset tonight and enjoyed a beer.

The fixture just looks so sleek. I think the design is unmatched by any other led fixture right now.

I was looking at the 10K spectral graph of the Razor and it looks to have plenty of red in it! Much like a metal halide. Right in there! I run a 14K metal halide bulb now. I heard the Razor 10K is quite a bit bluer then owners thought it would be.
Can anyone elaborate on this?? I may like the 10K unit better. Maybe some pics on youtube??? I will check.

The inclusion of Warm Whites to provide more of the red part of the spectrum is one of the more progressive things these manufacturers have tried. It allows the fixture to have that spectrum, without the spotlighting of red dots in shadowed rock areas/sand in the tank like a red led would. I've been doing this myself.
Visually, a red led is a little more appealing and brings out some color more however. They key is to not overdo it with too much red, and create a cyano growing factory.

You can always adjust the white/blue channels individually too. You could turn the whites down quite a bit and make it 20k if you desired. This is one of the huge benefits of leds.

Yes, but the flexibility is there.
Say you run the lights at 10k for 90% of the day. Right before you go to sleep and want to see a 20k look, you could set it as such for the last hour when it is normally dimmer anyway during a sunrise/sunset schedule.

I have one 27" 16,000k and one 10,000k over my 180. I have both dialed in to where if you didn't know the difference, they both look light the same K rating. Matter of adjusting the channels, I have both light set for the same blue intensity only the 10,000k I lowered the white less than the 16,000k. Both look like my old Pheonix 14K MH bulbs. And I'm not running any of the channels at 100%. Doing a comparison test. Not sure as to which one I will keep or which one I will sell and replace with one of the same, that I keep.
