Maxspect Razor

I just finally finished recessing mine in the canopy. Crappy camera. I had two 27" and changed to (1) 27" and (2) 20" 16k's. No dark spots now.

Cant see your pics.....only question marks. Please try again, would love to your canopy mount.

I'm worried I might have ordered the wrong color spectrum. I ordered the 120 watt 16K for my 24 cube. Right now I've got a Kessil a150 10K that I moved over from my nano. I really like the color of the Kessil, it's more of a 12K. I ordered the 16K because I figured I'd be able to adjust it to the way I want but now I'm worried I will lose too much intensity adjusting it to be less blue.

For those of you with the 16K, do you guys run it at 100% or do you guys adjust it to be less blue?

Aquacave, one of our sponsors, has a 10% off weekend special for anyone that might be interested.

I might be due for an upgrade on my tank later, so I dont want to get a 120w unit and later not needing it.

I find at 100% the colour is less than blue compared to a 14K bulb.

this is to mike or anyone who has seen the razor in person, i have a tank that measures 28"L x 18"W x 18"H and im really interested in the razor. i'm thinking of getting the 160W because i want to make sure that i have an even spread and plenty of power. i dont mind having to turn down the fixture (i'd rather dim than not have enough). so will the 160W be way too much or should i save a few bucks and go with the 120W?

Its not to blue when set at 100% on both. It has a nice natural look. I have mine on a 46 and corals started loving it after a couple days at 75% then after a week up to 100%. Everything looks happy.

You will bleach your corals. You will have to turn it down then slowly ramp up. Watch your corals closely.

After about a week or two of slowly ramping up intensity, you can run these at 100% just fine for a few hours during the day. I have a DIY setup of 180w of Cree XT-Es over a 34 gallon, and nothing died or bleached after slowly acclimating up to it.

I wouldn't recommend 10 hours straight of 100% though.

Did this and still got some bleaching. So starting all over. I can't afford to lose my corals.

WOW, Those LED's sound very deceiving, intensity wise!!! Man, I am going to need to get your phone number Mike when I get mine.......................LOL
I will be bugging the heck out of you.......................LOL

Mike,
Not yet. Still kicken around the idea of T5's too. But I will probably go with the Razor. I really love it from what you have shown so far and what I have seen on youtube.
IF I GO T5'S IT WILL BE THE RAZOR. I have not purchased my lights yet as I just spent almost 300.00 on the granit bar that goes around the tank. I had to have it bullnosed so the plywood supporting it underneath does not show.
This way it will be plenty strong when it's leaned on. I am still working on the stand too. And plumbing.
I hope it turns out nice! Oh also, looks like no one has the Razor 120 watt 16K in stock!

Finally got my lights in (16k 160w). I have them hanging roughly 8" above water line and getting good spread, but dang I put these lights starting off at 45% and corals looked good for a day and then started losing Polyp extension. im slowly acclimating them to this new fixture. adding 5% to each bank every day, hoping to not stress corals out more. This light pushes great shimmer and great color compared to t5. Im getting no washed out colors whatsoever. Its nice and crisp! will keep everyone updated as time goes on.
