Maxspect Razor

I am using Automatic settings, but my lights doesnt' want to shutdown. Program set at A for Automatic and my T6 is 23:30 A=0% and B=60%.

After 23:30 (11:30 pm) lights are still on?

I dont know for sure because I honestly havent played with the programs yet but.......I wonder if because your final set point still has the blue at 60% power.........that is your problem. I would think in order for them to shut completely down, set point 6 needs to have A at 0% and B at 0%. I may be wrong but, just a thought.

10 or 16k

10 or 16k

Thank you for making my decision so much easier for me. The Razor is on my wishlist.

I do have one question though. What are the benefits between 10K and 16K spectrum? Which one would be fine for beginner corals (zoas, etc...)?

The lower the spectrum in general the quicker the growth. Asthesical corals look better under a higher spectrum. Most experienced reefers prefer a higher kevin such as 14k-20k. The trade off is a low PAR (intensity). With color you are referring to either would be fine, personally I would prefer a higher K or Kevin such as the 16K. The blues and whites are adjustable, so you can make it bluer or whiter to a point. I would suggest you see some tanks or if you have a store in which you like their lighting, ask what is their spectrum. Most stores and online retailer run 20K's for best color.

I'm curious what people think about how red colors specifically look under this fixture - my understanding is that most LED's don't show the color red well even though that is a photosynthetic peak (unless the fixture uses red/magenta specific LED's). I'm curious if that is actually true or not in "real life" with the Razor.

My other question - does this fixture put out anything under 400 nm (and is it relevant to coral coloration)? I've read that anything under 400 nm is damaging to corals, but also that some ultraviolet light stimulates certain protective pigments that alter coral coloration.

Thanks in advance!

im still going through light acclimation process from t5's to Maxspect razor 16k 160w. I will let you know as soon as corals are acclimated so that I can put a fair shot towards the fixture. slowly moving 5% increase every 4 days. So In a couple weeks I will let you know!

I already have illumagic 90c fixture and it is good fixture but purples and uvs on it are weak. other leds are Cree (Warm white, cool white, RB and Blues). they are running with 1000ma.

other reason is, it is small for my reef. it is 90 cm and my tank is 120 cm. I ordered 2 each 16000k 20.5inch razor. I m going to install them like train wagon. I m going to support system with giesemann razor T5

My tank with illumagic is currently:

Here is the final Rock work..Taken with the Iphone 5.. Was playing around with the blues and white.. Still figuring it all out But some pics came out not bad..

Dont mind the tape.. gonna touch up the tank with some paint..

WOW! No wonder I cannot find any lights! mtlreeffreak got them all.....................LOL! Very nice tank and man, those colors from the razor are FANTABULOUS!!!!
Mike, please give me a update. How are your corals acclimating now? Are they getting better and have you ramped up?
HAve been working so much I have not had time to work on my tank too much.

Careful with acclimating corals. They will be fine for a couple of days then bleaching!

My corals are doing well. Will be taking pics soon. My memory cards are missing!

Currently I am running a 4x39w T5 fixture over my 36" tank and I am considering switching to this fixture. I was looking for recommendations on how I should switch to this fixture without harming my corals? I have a mixture of LPS, SPS and a BTA. Thanks!
