may I complain

O.K. may tank has already been neglected due to my second baby boy being born. That's not the big deal because I would not trade anything for my two little ones. Just want to make that clear :spin1:. What does suck though, as soon as I start to get the tank back on track, my far right halide is putting off a weird color and all the colors under it looked bleached. Closer inspection, it's popped and the outer coating glass has a big hole in it. Everything on the right side of my tank is fried about halfway down. This is a time when taking a 38 to the tank sounds like a great idea.:uzi:

i feel ur pain brother....sometimes its just one thing after another. my pops used to always say "theres a flip side to everything, you just have to look for it". n e way, hang in there.

We have all had a few things; three hours before the meeting at the house 3 bulbs went out and 1 hour before I cleaned the skimmer and water got on the pump...had to send it in to get fixed! Still waiting for the bill...may I recommend a 12 gauge; it will make a much larger hole in the glass to ensure you don't try to fix it. j/k

38 would do the job. Shoot it at the corner of the tank so you take out two panels

I feel for you. I lucked out the other day and discovered that my glass shield had been moved, but, my GFCI had tripped a few days prior taking that light out. I guess no light is better then unshielded light :)

Truth to that Gresham. It may have been a few hours that the light stayed on until I noticed it. Didn't take long. Any chance that the corals that aren't too burnt will come back? I was thinking of fragging off all bleached parts in hopes that the bases may come back.

Bummer! Hang in there man.

One of the club's Pink Mojito chalice frags opened a can of whoop polyp on my orange scoly last night. Feel any better? :)

Chris,

it's going to be ok.This happened to Tom's tank a a year or two ago. Hang in there!

PS @#$%& Happens

Yeap my tank did the same thing, fish splashed water onto my bulb and cracked it, that is why I have egg crate over my tank. Don't worry Chris, that is what happen in nature too so you are experiencing the same process some of the coral reefs are going through ... hang in there and everything will come back. I haven't even touch my skimmer for over 2 months (too busy opening up a business ... lol so don't feel bad.

I've been thinking about that egg crate, or something, since my other bulb popped last month. I remember what happened to your tank Tom, looks just like that but on the right side. My hopes of saving some of the bases was wishful thinking, they got cooked. Hey, at least I don't have to worry about loosing par on my bulbs, just get new ones every month.
