So four were bought already at 3-4k a piece?

4K would not surprise me. 10K retail would not surprise me either. Collectors in the US will pay that price.

I agree thats it really fun to have rare and new fish, but damn these have to be the ugliest clowns ever.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for saying it lol.

The one bloke who collected a few pairs for mating i know for a fact had only 1 large pair left (the rest withered away). this was 2 years ago).

I believe he has managed to get the last pair spawning last year and is raising juvis. So it looks like they might be on the market after all! :D

If I had managed to raise these fish and knew the market value and had a shipped I would be very ****ed of with you for posting this pic, however he (or she) must have posted it somewhere so must have known this could happen.

Its a good thing for the hobby, but they are not pretty fish:p

Here is all you need to know about the man himself and the collection process. Truly an amazing read, too bad they are all headed to Japan :/.

I don't understand why he would be upset about a picture. I would be very proud of myself and would want everyone to know of my achievement. He's keeping an active thread on the subject on MOFIB so I don't think its a problem.

Cheers to him but no fish is worth that kind of money. No matter how rare.

Awsome read. Very inspiring. I wonder what aquarium the fishes are headed to. I would love to go and check them out if in the area.

I can't explain his reason(s), but can suggetst one, you don't appear to have asked the owner of the fish and the picture for permission.

Quite a few folks take their photo ownership seriously.

thats about right traveller, I was not trying to have a go or upset anyone.

It makes little economic sense to bring them to the US for lower dollars then are available elsewhere. If such a delivery is to be believed, other Lord Howe specimens are paying the freight. What might that be, Acans? [/B]

WHO dares to collection from Lord Howe (except Ryan.. )? :D Pirates?

It's a United Nation World Heritage site.
