Whose list

Whose list

Whose list was this on?

Im curious to find out who list its on.

Until i see it listed or a pix im gonna still keep calling shenanigans.

If you saw the list then youd have to have seen a price, right

Who wants to prove me wrong?

it's not really uncommon that exporters have their IDs wrong ON PURPOSE :)

Recently, I've seen A.latzonatus on an Indo Bali exporter's list; without second thought, it must be fake :) [look finally black saddelbacks came in...... with ich]

I dont see why its so hard to believe that they are/were available. I doubt anyone from the US will pony up that kind of money for one so pics may never come out but at that price I have no reason not to believe the validity of the list.
In the last year or so the following fish that are generally considered unobtainable have been made available to the international collector so I am pretty sure its for real.

Clarion Angels
Personatus Angel
Chrysogasters
Latz in large supply
Borbonius Anthias
Parvortis Anthias
Peppermint Angels
Sea Dragons
Resplendant Angels

Some of these may or may not have been collected legally but they were still available to the retail hobbyist.

I suppose my question is why would anyone send Macs to the US when they can get twice as much for them in Japan and its closer. Maybe someone over here had them collected for their personal use and are selling the extras.

The person who has them is a wholesaler/transhipper so maybe he got them from a private collector. I do know he has good connections in AUS and the surrounding areas because he gets some of the rarest fish from that region.

Simply because their collection is illegal. Look at all the hoops the breeder in the link above had to go through to get them legally for breeding purposes much less outright commercial sales. G'lord the residents of LHowe arent allowed to own cats to protect the indigenous critters there :)

Just curious about your list here. Are you including Japan? Maybe I just missed all these. I have gotten the list from the supplier in question here and none of these has been there.

Where did the large supply of Latz go?

Theres only like one or two Peppermints..One is 10k eh?

Resplendens I have not heard about either in the US not since RCT went away.

Not saying you are wrong but let us know where that list came from its pretty impressive.:eek2:

All of these fish werent on the same list and I did say that they were available to "international collectors". These fish are the cream of the crop when it comes to rarities so most arent even offered to the US.
Here is a little breakdown on the fish I listed above:

Clarion Angels - Approx. 200 were collected this year with only a few going to the US. They were offered but very few chose to pony up the money for one. The rest went overseas.

Personatus Angel - A beautiful male was collected recently and it immediately went to Japan.
Chrysogasters - Several were made available to the US.
Latz in large supply - A steady stream of these guys were available last year and into the first part of this year to the point that the market became oversaturated. There is a very small market for $300 clownfish that have poor track records in captivity.
Borbonius Anthias - Same as the Latz. You can still find these fish on some of the websites.
Parvortis Anthias - Recently collected but no one seemed to really care because who wants a $900 deepwater anthias.
Peppermint Angels - Currently avail. for $10,000-$15,000 on a demand basis only.
Sea Dragons - A few have been popping up overseas. Illegal?
Resplendant Angels - A batch of these were available late last year. I know of a few that were for sale in Thailand.

I can't seem to find a pic of this clown on google. Can someone please post a pic? I want to know what a 10k clown looks like.

You can find pics inmr blues thread

While the scant bits of data on the web relating to that source point to possible transactions with Gems, Conspics, Sharks, etc., not sure I would be sending money prepaid, prior to import, without some very credible references.

Given the issues MrBlue's had early on without ever touching wholesale/distributor systems, I am not sure we can gauge the level of disease tolerance Mcc's posses.

I just got an update from the person bringing them in. Supposedly all 8 will be stateside on the 30th with 4 already being presold. I hope someone gets one so they can post pics.

I think we can assume they will have all the usual disease issues that most WC clowns have. Therefore, prophylactic treatment would be prudent. Looking forward to seeing some pics. If they spawn as readily as mrblue's, then maybe we'll see some CB soon. Perhaps several serious breeders might consider pitching in to get a pair.

I think ORA should invest in a pair.

The market for macs in the US would be very small. #1 they are way out of most people's price range. #2 they are fugly. OK, maybe not that bad, but certainly not much mass market appeal.
