mega overflow herbie question?

I have a 120g with dual mega flows. I have a basement sump that is almost directly underneath the display tank. I'll post pics of what I have already plumbed. I need to quiet this thing down alot. I've searched alot on here and found a person that said they use the 3/4" factory drill holes for the full siphon and then uses the 1 1/4" for the emergency overflows. That person ran the return lines over the top of the tank. I'm running a blueline 70 pump slightly restricted, that I would like to run full throttle. The head height is 10 1/2 feet. As a backup measure I'm going to be adding float switches to the controller in case of unwanted restrictions.

My main question is will the pair of 3/4" tubes handle the 1100-1200gph at full siphon. In the home page calculator it said the minimum tube size will be 1.37"

.

Go to beanimal home page. He's got a siphon calculator there. Plug in ID of pipe and amount of vertical drop. But just to give you an idea, 1" pipe with 1' foot of vertical drop will handle ~1000GPH.

Below is a couple quick pics. My thought is that I'm going to replace the two 1 1/4" lines going to the socks with two 3/4" lines that will be under full syphon instead. According to beananimals conversion for flow, A 3/4" pipe at 6ft will flow just over 1600 gph. I'm guessing that with the elbows I need to put in, I will see much less but still enough to keep the return line wide open. Anyone have any thoughts of or conversion calculations to find out how much I'll lose with the needed bends?

Thanks for the info on the calculations. I finally decided to for full siphon. All I can say is WOW! I never thought that I would be able to hear the fan in my lap top over my tank but I can. Now just need to quiet the vibrations from the return pipe and it will be dead silent.

I usually use about 12" of vinyl tubing connected to the pumps input and 12" to the pumps output. Then Pbc the rest of the way. Don't know of that would help with a basement sump.
