AMAZING!! This is such a great thread, the picutures with your new camera look great. The anthias pointed at the camera look funny since you only see their faces. This tank is def an inspiration for when I actually buy a house and know I wont have to move my tank again. Having a large reef with sand, hood, MH etc then also having a rimless, BB, T5 frag tank is like getting the best of both worlds, I really like the setup!

Well, I couldn't help myself and got another tank. I'm using the new tank to house my anemones and clowns. My shallow tank where the anemones were housed was virtually unusable for corals due to the anemones so now it's reclaimed and I can use it to grow out stuff and frags as it was intended for.
It's a 58 gallon Oceanic Tech tank with Starfire glass and a center over flow. I have it all plumbed through the wall to my other tanks so it's completely silent and a clean looking install. Being that's in my family area (Kitchen/ family room), I really needed it to be a quiet tank. No sump, no skimmer, no pump, etc. under this tank equals silent. :beer:
I put water and sand in it Sunday night and transfered my stock to it last night. Here's a few pictures of how it looked before I stocked it and about 30 minutes afterward.

Dang! That looks really slick, I love the two different height islands, the greens on one side and the reds on the other, and the carpet right in the middle bottom. Is that a Haddon's carpet? I picked up one that looks very similar but haven't been able to take a good picture of it. Unfortunately I bet those beautiful monti caps will be goners once the GBTA's grow out.
I wonder if with the size of this tank and the multiple anemones you could keep some more clownfish? Maybe a trio of pink skunk clowns since the occ./perc. clowns don't seem to mind them as much.

Thanks Taq, I'm not sure what kind of carpet it is. Your guess is as good as mine. That anemone was attached to the rock with the encrusted monit caps and they were doing fine. I know if the anemone grows over it, the monit's are gone. I've got my fingers crossed for now but if they get stressed out, I'll move them.
I'd like to put a couple of more clowns in there but going to wait a bit.

Something I found interesting when setting up the new tank and MH lighting.
My 180 has 3-250 watt HQI (double ended) HM's on it and in the new tank I put the same reflector and ballast but it's a Mogul instead of a a double ended.
What I found surprising is how much more heat the Mogul transfers down to the water compared to the HQI with lens. In my opinion, it's at lease twice the heat. If I would have known that I would have gone HQI on this tank as well to stay away from the extra heat.
I was suprised as well to have never read about the difference between the two anywhere. Go figure.

It's a no name acro to my knowledge. The supplier that the LFS picks it up form called the assortment of acros he got in "reef candy". They are cultured in the wild too which is pretty cool. That coral is actually more of a bright yellow with reddish tips. I couldn't get the colors right for the life of me, but still liked the picture. When I picked it up it was bright yellow and has darkened a touch while settling in my tank. I was fortunate to be at the LFS as he got the order in to help him unpack and place the new stuff in his tanks. Besides being fun, I was able to get first shot at some really nice pieces.
I have a couple more nice size pieces of this yellow acro in my frag tank that I'm growing out to hopefully share with the reef community.
