Melafix treatment

Recommended by a reputable LFS after they looked at one of my fish and said cloudy eyes and pale color was an indication of bacterial infection. I put it in my 29g FOWLR tank 5ml/10g = 15ml as stated on the bottle. Now my snails don't look so good, particularly the Turbos. Am I doing something wrong?

Hey Norward, I have used Melafix A Few Times both Salt & Fesh... It is an antifungal medication, and to my knowledge shouldnt affect your snails... Make Sure your water parms are in order first before administering any medication... Melafix works great for cloudy eyes...

I was just about to post in the New to Hobby section and decided to check one more time here. Thanks for the reply. Actually, I keep getting feedback that my tank is otherwise healthy based upon the non-fish activity I have been having (tubeworms, sponges, etc). Params are fine, just the fish not so.

I don't recommend it. You should figure out if the fish couldhave ich. Bacterial infections often come with parasites.
