anyone that has kept one wondering what your experience with it was. basically its activity how active was it?
thx
thx
I just added one to my tank 9 days ago. He promptly buried himself and stayed hidden for 4 days which is fairly typical behavior. Since then, he comes out around 1pm and goes to bed at 9:30pm. Not sure if his clock is still adjusting. He is pretty active when he is out. He swims from rock to rock carefully exploring and pecking. So far he has not bothered any of my snails or hermit crabs and I hope it stays that way. I really like his colors and he seems to be a very peaceful tankmate.
mine stayed buried for around the same amount of time. mine took about 2 weeks to really get used to my light cycle. once he got used to it, he was out all the time as soon as the lights came on and goes to bed when they go out now.
mine also started out leaving all my inverts alone. but as time went on he slowly started eating them until it got to the point that is was his lifes mission to eat them all. i have heard it is hit or miss when it comes to them and if they leave your inverts alone or not.
Sounds like it is probably just a matter of time before he takes after the snails and hermits.
So for those that are keeping a melanurus, what are you using for a CUC that they won't mess with?
My peppermint shrimp may have disappeared though. He never bothered my cleaner when it was alive, though he might be the reason it isnt alive....
I think you may be onto something.
i have one that was very active then the 6 line beat him up even thou the 6 line is smaller the melanarus hid for days then would come out and got beat on. i removed the 6 line and hes back to being very active. i really like wrasses does anyone else know what other wrasses i can keep with this melanarus i dont want him to become mean like the 6 line did
