Melanurus Wrasse acting very strange

Okay so I've had my tank set up for about 2 years now. Melanurus Wrasse has been in the tank for about 8 months or so now and just today I started noticing that he is slapping sand everywhere and hitting his face against the glad very hard to where it can be heard a few feet away. :headwalls: Anyone heard of this or had this issue before? No one seems to be bothering him, I'm just trying to figure out what's going on cause he's acting psycho.

It could have hit a critical maturation stage recently, or something like that. I have a couple of wrasses that ignored their reflections until very recently. They won't out-right assault the glass, but they will go into a display mode and zip back and forth along the front of the tank for a few minutes. Does the behavior come and go? Is he eating normally?

Hmm interesting. This behavior just started today and it's been going on for like 3 hours, then I fed the tank, he stopped to get food, and started right back up. Yes, he ate a decent amount like always.
