Always seems a solution always has a problem. I've got a buddy here that has a habit of saying, "My reef is not necessarily a friendly or safe place on any given day".

I picked up another coral I've been eyeballing at the LFS for the past week. I can't believe it wasn't purchased by someone else all that time.

When I went up there today, there was a small coral avalanche and the one I wanted was cooking on top of another acro, and now has a burned spot. :(

It was soaked in iodine & water for a while to see if any AEFWs would appear. Then it was left on the counter for 10 minutes to see if I could visibly see their slimy bodies shining on the surface of the relatively dry coral. Nothing to report. Good.

Now it is in an Interceptor bath to make sure there are no red bugs. Once that is done, I'll put it in my reef. And take a picture for y'all.

A few more pictures, just because I can.

A close up of the tricolor that I posted last night with the crazy blue colors (top down). From the front it isn't nearly as impressive.

The new acro I got that is turning green seems to be turning purple at one tip.

And some of the fish circling for food.

The Anthias really brought out some color in the tank. I'm thinking I need some as they really do offset the colors of the tank moreso than the chromis.

Yes, all 8 anthias are still in the tank, and there are 9 chromis still. I count them daily just to see if anyone is missing.

The Six Line is huge, everyone comments on it when they see him. The odd thing is he was tiny when I got him and I think that was maybe 6 months ago. I may ask my LFS to look up my purchases to help me figure out when I got him as it may be longer.

Spike, my first Six Line that I had for 4 or 5 years was enormous when I had to pull him out in Nov 05 (when half my fish died overnight). This guy wasted no time getting up to the same size.

Are Six Lines jumpers? Last week I found mine in my sump floating. I had it for about 6 months and it always seemed fat and happy.

Do you think I should make some kind of cover for my overflow?

They can jump, as do most wrasses. Covering your tank & overflow with eggcrate or some type of mesh can help prevent losses.

Sadly my sixline, the incredible flatworm eater, jumped out of my tank only a few days ago. That was the 1st carpet surfer I've had in nearly 2 years. RIP little guy :(

I've had a six-line for a while in an open top tank with no troubles. Hopefully now that I said something he wont get any ideas to do you know what.

Mike, sorry to hear about your Six Line. They are beauties.

Here's my newest coral. I guess it is in the montipora family perhaps.

This is a 1.5" plate coral baby that has been grown from a polyp that was blowing around in my tank. Look closely and you'll see two more babies in the front center section of that same piece. The main colony releases polyps all the time, and rarely do they survive. I've seen one being eaten by an aiptasia.

And a shot of the blue-tipped acro.

Steve's Green Slimer seems to be doing well so far. I trimmed back the Neon Star Polyps so it is safe.

Marc - that looks a lot like Montipora Undata to me. I just bought a nickel sized frag because I love the growth and the high contrast polyps. Where'd you find such a beautiful piece?

The new "Monti" is gorgeous, damaged or not. The more I look closely, the more I like Monti's... though that tricolor acro topdown shot made me pause.

Simply beautiful, Marc.

Marc, your new monti looks like a Montipora Undata... There is a pic of it in Corals of the World... I have one from Steve Tyree. I'll try to post a pic later...
