I change them around 1-2pm daily. You guys are on a totally different clock for some reason. ;)

The signature line... hmm. That might work.
when is the astroglide going to make the apperance as an avatar?

Anthony, I just visited with Henry today and he's got the Minis. So when I get my Mini Wide, I'm going over there to compare them side by side.

Yes, the Mini Wide comes as a pendant, which is what I was trying to explain above. I want that in the first place, but ordered the bare reflector accidentally.

I'll have to drop by and see the pendant when you get it in Marc, let me know.

I suppose the only question left is: how hard is it to make the square holes in my canopy bigger? :)

I really liked the iphone app- is that provided by AC guys or its on the apple website?
It was developed by a third party and is available on the app store site.

Yesterday, I stopped by a DFWMAS member's home to check out his tank, and while I was there, we discussed my BB wire-connection to the AC3. He seemed to think it was quite doable, and since he also has both those components, is going to try to assemble one for each of us. I'll be sure to let y'all know if it works as planned.

Hey Marc, Back to the avatars... Are you going to create a Melev's Year of the avatar thread so we can all go back and say.... Yeah thats the one I liked the most.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled thread..

Apex controller and Icecap ballast

Apex controller and Icecap ballast

I preordered the new Apex controller package. It seems a very good deal.
I have a few questions for the more knowledgeable and familiar with previous Neptune controllers:

The apex integrates according to specs a dimmable light controller.
4 Integrated Variable Speed Ports
0 to 10V output interface
Can directly control up to 4 Tunze stream pumps (like AquaSurf)
Can dim ballasts with 0 to 10V interfaces (life some T5 ballasts)

Can it dim the Icecap 660 with VHO?

Secon question:

Moon Cycle Simulation
The Apex has another special control function which can be used to simulate the moon cycle in your tank. The lunar simulator is used for this feature and is capable of varying the intensity of light emitted from its LEDs. The intensity variations are controlled by the Apex which is preprogrammed with correct intensity values for each day of the moon cycle. The Apex automatically updates the intensity value depending upon the current setting of the Apex's clock. With this artificial moon cycle, it is possible to induce corals and fish to spawn

Does it require the Neptune proprietary lunar module or I can make my own LED receptacles connected in parallel?

I looked around their web site and the forums but I haven't been able to find an answer.

PS: The new tank should be here next week! I am excited

That's an interesting idea, actually.

Claudio - I don't know the answers to your questions. I've never needed to buy any of the satellite equipment Neptune sells, so their forum is the best place to get the answers you seek. Just repost it there. (Click quote, then copy and paste it as a new post over there.)

Poukie's a keeper. Unfortunately, since we took that picture at MACNA, she has since found a man. Very annoying, and totally unfair. I was sure I was next in line. Maybe she'll chime in with some kind of ranking system so I know where I stand, as she does read this thread from time to time. Poukie, be mine! :inlove: Even 356Ray seems to agree.

The window limo tint is fine. You can even use Petroleum Jelly as the binder, applying it liberally on the glass, then lay the tint on that goo, and squeegee from the center outwards to get all the bubbles out. Once done, trim it with a razor blade to get rid of the excess.

The nice thing is, you can later remove it if necessary, and there is far less chance water or salt can get between it. For added security, you could apply tape to the tank's upper trim and don't even press it against the tint. Any water would run off the tape like a skirt or deflector.

 Marc....love today's avatar! Does Habib know about this?

If this lures him out of hiding, it's worth it. :D

I think you should take a picture with hot reef-chicks every stop you make and use them as avatars...oh wait, you already did that!

Poukie

Poukie

Maybe we should start a poll on the appropriate forum:

Who should Poukie choose?

Melev vs Other Man

and let people vote. she will be yours in a breeze....
