If I'm understanding you correctly, it would almost be like a doubled-drain with the upper one sucking the surface clean while the main pipe gets the next layer down. Let me think about that one.

Exactly. I thought of an addition however. Take the existing end cap and machine some slots in the side and use that end cap on top of the elbow mentioned earlier. The cap would act as a standpipe to reduce the noise.

I wish I could get clams that look that good locally.Unfortuneately there are only 2 lfs here in jacksonville that sell corals and what not.

As soon as my system matures,I am gonna have to hound you for one of those nems Mark :).

Look what I found at Ikea for .49 yesterday. Gotta love the Clearance section.

Once they are installed, you'll know what they are for. I'm not saying anything yet. :D

Yes, I did understand it. It may be something I'll try out in the future. The other side of the wall has a Durso cap, which you can see on Page 1 of this thread.

Yea, I saw the durso but I thought you'd still get noise at the point of source. I guess as long as there is a air inlet somewhere in the line then it won't suck at the drain.

I don't know what you could possibly be buying handles for. Are you going to attach them to the side of your nano so you can carry it around by handles? lol..

maybe you are going to hook them onto the wall next to your tank so you can mount your light to that...

GrantWW - I got a notification that you tried to post in this thread, but it never appeared. Can I answer a question for you?

I did not get the same notice Melev, but i get them pretty often for other threads and sometimes the post shows up 10 or 15 minutes later and sometimes it does not.

What a great little tank. Interesting how the light angle means the glass stays clean, I would not have guessed that.

I have this fantasy of making a tank like that, but then making it 6 feet long so I can wedge a wavebox on one end.

Question, how is the gorgonian doing for you now? It looks to me a Muriceopsis flavida, aka purple plume. I have one as well and it's a favourite .. well, actually all my gorgs are my favourite. :)

They aren't doing too well. The golden one gets bothered by one of the Rose BTAs daily, and the purple one rubs against the Dragon's Breathe unless I move the macro away. Which I just did two days ago.

I increased the flow in the tank, but I'm still not happy with how it looks currently. The stronger flow has cause the RBTAs to shrink down, which I do like. The sand is nice and clean.
