Melting Xenia Question

Hi I have a Xenia who's stalk has melted. What should I do leave it in the tank ? Take it out ? Will it grow Back ?

I had some Xenia that melted but I left it alone and it begain to grow back

if there is any of it left it will most likely grow back.

my answer would be to get rid of it while you can. If that coral gets a foothold in your tank you may wish you never had it as it will grow truly like a weed, growing directly onto other corals and can be impossible to get controll of. just my opinion.

The old timey cure for this is a little Iodine.

I ripped a chunk off of a rock to relocate it, a few weeks later there were new stems growing up from the VERY tiny skin left on the first rock.

even a pin head of this stuff anywhere and it will grow like crazy with the right conditions. Get it going and in a month you will be wondering how to make it melt again!
