I had a partial crash in my tank due to a small leak outside my salinity dropped to 1,012 fishes were find but 4 large coral colonies perished, the tank is slowly going back to normal, I am also doing some aquascape tonight to hide the tunze and just change the look of the tank, I will take pics tomorrow when the lights go back on and the dust settles.

The dust settled in mine and my alk spike caused 2 colonies to suffered one i had to frag the other one I'm keeping a close eye on.
Will get some updated pics today. Roger hopefully all of our recent *&$^%#^ will go away for a while.

Alright you asked for it!!!

Alright you asked for it!!!

I know the thread starter has seen my tank several times but I just had a friend take several shots of my tank with his sick Dig SLR. I'll get the specs for the Camara later but I know the lens was like 2g's alone. Any ways on to the pics:

The shadow is being caused by my temp frag rack, also I'm about to upgrade light to the new dual 150 Orbit.

And a few other pics...

Rogger, is that recently?!? Your tank is so awesome! Hope it's okay now!

Yup, I actually discovered the leak after the colonies had died last week, but I suspected something was wrong for the past month when my ATO tripped because of overtime filling.

At first I thought that it had been the skimmer skimming to much so I didn't pay attention anymore. After the colonies died the salinity of the water was at 1012 SG I then knew for sure that there was a leak on the system and since there was not water in my house floor I knew it had to be outside and sure enough it was a chiller o-ring gone bad.

I guess this is one of the cases in which having a remote fishroom is not good :D

I am back in shape as far as parameters are concern, however most of the coral colors either faded or browned a little, these colonies are slowling recuperating.

I think you bought my green brain from the barrier reef, no?

:)

No the small green brain was purchased at exotic aquatic about a year and a half ago. the blue and green was purchased at barrier reef about a year ago.

Rogger, I'm so sorry to hear about that with your tank. It sucks losing corals, especially when they're the giant colonies that you've accumulated and/or grown. I'm sure in time it'll all be fine again. At what point is it worth getting a salinity probe for your computer....

Trust me, if there was an accurate low maintenace salinity monitor that was priced like a ph meter I will buy it now.

Here are some current pics

this one shows the dead part on this table coral, this was a coral I purchased at Reeflife approx 2 years ago and had done awesome until D-day :C

D-day had no effect or very little on some other corals, This colony was a gift from Ludwigia I believe it was originally from Chris Little, It has grown a lot since I got it, it is almost touching the water surface, next pic is a closeup of the tip growth.

This was part of last nights aquascaping I finally got the courage to move some rocks out of the way to hide the power head wedge between the rocks, see if you spot it!
