Mert's rehab

I would just feed the anemone and not try any wierd procedures. I bought a bleached "blue" carpet, which I think is a gigantea and it had barely any coloration to the tentacles. This anemone did not take to mysis like the others I have, so I tried some chopped up silversides and that seemed to be the ticket. It will eat 3-4 small chunks of silversides in one sitting and I usually try to feed it every other day. The past month or so the anemone has really colored up nicely and is starting "look" larger but I guess you never know if that is a good sign or not. I take the coloration change a great sign though. I will try to upload some pics when I am at home tonight to show you the progress.

Stick to the feedings, my mertens are the hardiest anemones i have ever seen

Keep feeding mysis and it will color up in no time.

I thought that I had some pictures from when I first bought it but Im not sure where I placed them. It has now moved up onto the live rock that was right next to it so its out of the sand totally. When I first got it, there was only barely any color at the tips. It is now starting to move downward and into the main column/oral disc.

Your anemone is a gigantea. A very very bleached gigantea. The colored tips aren't helping. It needs to recover its zooxanthellae. Not the colored tips.

Here's some pic's of my gig when I first got it.

I need to take some more pic's of it now that it has recovered. Here's a video though.
