Mesa water quality and RODI

Hi everbody. I have a BRS 75 gpd RODI set up that I will use to make water. I am wondering if any of you in the Mesa water district area have the same setup, and if so, how many gallons of water can you get out of your media? Anybody ever count it? Thanks!

water production is based on water pressure. Membrane ratings are @ 70 psi. You will get more water production and less TDS with higher pressure

Thank you azjohnny. So I am regulated down to just under 60 psi coming in to the house, which I don't want to adjust for sake of the rest of the fixtures in my home. Is the extra 10 psi worth the price of a booster pump? How much more efficient would the production be with the extra 10 psi?

I run mine at about PSI on a 90gpd setup. It's pretty close to spot on in water production. Took me about 35 hours to fill my 125 gallon system.

I have one of Spectrapure's newer ultra high efficiency RODI systems. It's running right now and my TDS readings are in=494, post membrane=2, and out=0. It is being fed after a water softener. It does have a booster pump and it runs at 70psi. I have a newly built mixing station and it takes a couple days to fill both 65G reservoirs. I'm in Mesa at Higley and Brown. Welcome! JP

Hi JP! Thanks for the reply. I am right down the road at Gilbert and Brown, our water might just come from the same pipe! Good info, much appreciated.

I used to run 100 psi through my Spectrapure RO/DI, would get 7 gallons per hour and reduced the TDS from 9ppm to 6 ppm over 70 psi

Never had any issues with any fittings leaking at the pressure. Spectrapure suggests not going over 70 psi

How much is a pump. I think I should get one.

I just checked my water and it is over 700 PPM from the faucet. Augghhh. It is about 14 out of the RO. I checked because I was suprised that it was 14. Usually 5-6PPM out of the RO.

I made my first batch of water yesterday, am making more today. BRS 75 gpd set up made 45 gallons in about 10 hours. 75 gpd on a 24 hour timeframe is a little over 3 gph. I am happy with the rate of 4.5 gph. I am guessing it will slow a bit once the filters accumulate more crud... The one thing that really didn't hit home for me until yesterday was how much excess water I am wasting. Didn't measure it, but could hear it trickling all day. I need to figure out a way to run the waste line outside to water some plants!

Spectrapure has them for $150. Aquatec 8800 is what you want

They have models for a manual and auto flush RO/DI's

I use a booster pump as well and have ran at 100psi for quite a few years. Everything works better; production rate and membrane rejection rate.
