Metallica to play Schottenstein Center in November!!!

I didn't know you were into 'tallica!
You know they drop their 9th album, Death Magnetic, next month.

Saw Metallica when Kill 'Em All dropped back in the day, at the Variety Theatre in Parma. Armored Saint and Wasp were the warm-ups. We were watching them, digging the show and effects, when some kind of gliltter started showing up as part of the show (or so we thought). We concluded differently when pieces the size of a quarter or more started coming down onto the stage. They were so loud, small parts of the theatre ceiling were actually coming down onto the stage. :eek2:

That was an $8 ticket, I think, so $400+ for good seats is CRAZY to me.

Section: 122 Row: U $422.00 ea. I had Section 123, Row L seats for Van Halen and it was $100 less than that for 2 tickets! And they hadn't played together for 20 years.

Lars must be in charge of ticket pricing. :D

I wouldn't pay that much $$money$$ for sure. They are alright, but not that good. IMO
Pink Floyd is about the only band I would consider paying that kind of $$cash$$.
Enjoy the show for those who go.:smokin:

Myself, I'm more interested in the Queensryche show that is supposed to be coming around. Heard something about it on The Rock, but they had no dates yet. Thats one not to miss, if you haven't seen them. Very tight, quality performance. I saw them awhile ago and it was fantastic.

Alice Cooper is also playing at Lifestyles Communities Pavilion on Sunday, August 24, 2008. He's always a cool show too.

Sorry for the hijack man. ;)

For a second there I thought they had gone even farther off the deep end with those prices, then I realized that is from a ticket broker not face value.

I used to be a huge fan until the black album which was the beginning of the end but man have they just got consecutively worse with each ... IMO.

My daughter wanted to go see Jonas Brothers, I see they have tickets for them for 1076.00 each.... I will take two!

Man Black album was AWESOME!!!! but after that one I agree with you definitely downhill. I saw them the year Polaris opened and the sod went flying... that was a great show.

I should have worded that a bit better.... while the Black album was no "Justice" which to me was better then anything even earlier from them it was still a good effort. But you could tell the direction they were headed defintely started there.

Exactly! That link was from one of the many ticket brokers who for some reason (insert conspiracy theory here) get tickets before the general public. These are not the face value of the tickets and they are not even for sale yet on Ticketmaster, that's what I'm waiting for.
We went up to Cleveland to see the Foo Fighters a couple of weeks ago. Those tickets went on sale in May first thru the ticket brokers, and they were asking $224 for general admission floor seats.
I waited until about 2 weeks before the show and got them on Ticketmaster for the face value of about $60 so patience is a virtue with these ticket games.

Porky, if you hear when these are going on sale to the general public, let me know, and I will do the same if I hear.

Unless I hear something from the new album that is OUTSTANDING, then I'll pass. I was a huuuuuuge fan, but there hasn't been anything worth listening to from them since the black album.

I saw them in Indiana back 12 years ago or so, and it was a fantastic show.

I think it's a mistake to compare "old" Metallica to "new" Metallica. The band evolved because once Nirvana dropped Teen Spirit it made all the "old" metal seem outdated overnight!
I like all shades of Metallica from the Black Album right up to Saint Anger. How could you NOT like St. Anger? The fury, the gritty garage band sound... That album had all the rage of the pre-Black glory days the closest work to Justice since that time. Loud, expansive, unrepentant Metallica!
I for one am looking forward to Death Magnetic and will judge it on it's own merits.

Don't get me wrong, I'm more than willing to give the new album a shot. I just couldn't get into the newer albums like their old stuff.
