Ok I have my tank running on 2x250 watt SE bulbs with 2 4foot vho's unsure of the wattage and want to remove this setup since it is all bolted to the top of the canopy I want to take the top off and just place my ATi Powermodule on top now that is 10x54 watt unit ..My question is will I have to move the corals to the bottom or will they be ok since the wattage is just 40 more watts or does the type of light make the difference? So swap lighting or swap and move corals lower to acclimate?

I had two 400w SE MH with full size Lumenarc reflectors run on a magnetic ballast, switched to a Sunpower 8 bulb ATI fixture and bleached all of my SPS and a lot of my LPS because I figured I was going to lesser of a light fixture, so be carefull!

With a 10 bulb unit, you'd have to have it at least 10" above the water line. Also, start your full photoperiod for 3 hours and slowly add a 1/2 hour each week, if not longer. I have a 8x54w PM over my 60x30x20 tank and towards the top, my PAR values are in the upper 500s.

thanks for the intel going to start them at 14 inches with 3 hours on for starters 8 bulbs on 2 0ff so 2 bulbs on for dusk and dawn effect while other 8 off then in between the 8 bulbs on for 3 hours total 3 hours 2 bulbs 3 hrs 8 bulbs then 2 bulbs 3 hours?total 6 hrs minimal lighting and 3 with the 8 bulbs for max power till i can do all ten on for 5 hours and 2hrs dusk and dawn ..if that makes sense lol.
