Method for treating a Flame Angel

I bought a flame angel over the weekend and started a quarantine. It seems to be showing early signs of ich. I'd take a picture, but I can barely see the spots, let alone be able to take a picture.

I've treated fish before without problems, but my two methods of choice, sound like they're out for a flame angel because I hear they do not tolerate copper well and also they do not tolerate low salinity for extended periods of time. So that leaves a freshwater dip or the tank transfer method. I don't usually use a freshwater dip as a treatment method because it means you have to sanitize the QT before you put them back in. I'm also not real excited about the tank transfer method, in general. Any suggestions?

The most important question first:
Are you absolutely sure you are dealing with ich and not something else like "flukes", velvet or any of the other things that might produce white spots?

I doubt that any angelfish has issues with hyposalinity.
I have never tried hyposalinity with Flame Angels, but the 4 Regal Angels I've treated that way didn't show any discomfort and all survived it (one died later for unrelated reasons).

Hyposalinity treats ich and some "flukes".

With one small fish you could easily do tank transfers (TTM), but that only rids fish of ich.

Chloroquine Phosphate may treat ich (positive reports from aquarists but no scientific research to back it) and is highly effective against velvet.

PraziPro treats most "flukes", but neither ich nor velvet.

In theory you could combine the last 3 or all 4 in case you are not sure what to treat against. Though in general it is better to only treat the condition the fish actually has. Too many things at once could just stress the fish to death.

Tagging along, I just lost my Flame last night when I dosed Prazi-Pro. This is the 3rd one I have lost to Prazi-Pro. All other fish are doing good. Are they sensitive to PP also?

The praziquantel probably suffocated the flame angel. I find most angels deal with copper just fine, same goes for hypo

that's funny. The other fish are doing great, including wrasses and a multi-color. This is the 3rd straight one. Sorry to hijack the tread, but it seen the right time to address this.

I lost 2 different Declivis butterflies due to praziquantel stripping the O2 out of the water. The 3 wrasse I had in the same tank were completely unaffected

I'm not sure. I can hardly see the spots, so I can't diagnose them any better than "it looks like ich" at the moment. I just wanted to be prepared for what my options are if I do need to do something.
