Methods for dislodging BTA?

I've got a BTA that's on a fairly crunchy peice of rock, i.e. I can't get a credit card under it very easily.

I'm wondering what the safest method to use is - outside of placing a powerhead next to it (in other words I need this done tonight).

use an ice cube in a plastic bag and carefully place it against its foot and it will slowly detach and try to move. makes it easier to take it off

i use a blunt, flat metal spatula mad for wax carvimg to get all mine off of rocks. the ice cube trick is also a good route to try.

You can use an ice cube or you can take the rock out of the water and let the anemone hang upside down for a time. The anemone will eventally fall off.

Whatever you do, don't scrape the anemone off or force it off. It will detatch itself eventally. Forcing it will damage the foot and this can be very serious.

if there's no coral or mass of sponge material on a rock, that's generally what i opt for, as well. i usually fill a large tupperware container or bucket w/ tank water, turn the rock upside down and put it on top of the container, leaving a couple of inches of anemone foot out of the water.
