I bought a used PFO 175 SE dual, pulse start ballast a while back that came with two unknown bulbs types in it. These bulb fire fine but I am sure they are way past their prime. I then bought a ushio 14K (15K?) 175 W bulb that seemed to work fine for a few weeks. Then I noticed it would not fire and I would have to kick off and on the ballast a few times to get it to fire. Now it will rarely fire. I tried the bulb with both ballasts and I get the same results. Is this an incompatibility problem or just a bad bulb. If it is an incompatibility problem, what would be a good choice for this ballast. I like the 15K coloring since I do not have supplemental actinics.
