MH bulbs how often do you replace it?

Funny you should ask this. There's an article on RK Mag this month on this very subject. Talking Reef also interviews the same guys. Historically, people have said 10-14 months. However this article shows that you lose most of your output the first two to four months. Then the decline flattens. He suspects that you may be able to go two years without changing your bulbs.
 
IME you get what you pay for in these bulbs, the cheaper bulbs tend to deter faster than the more expensive ones, the more expensive ones also tend to have a better output par rating. I would only purchase a bulb with the higher par ratings or you are just wasting your money
 
After the problems I had going as long as a year, I'm replacing mine every 6 months: not nearly as expensive as the losses from an underperforming bulb in a one-bulb system.
