MH lights

Im thinking of trading my 90 for a 180. Will only 3 250 watt MHs be enought light? This tank is be mostly clams with sps, LPS etc. Main concern are the clams.

YES that is plenty of lights. Depends on what kind of bulb that you choose, you might want to add actinic supplement ... I am running 2 72" VHO 1 actinis/1actinicwhite along with 3 250watt halide. The VHO supplement fill out the tank very nicely

Completely agree! That's perfect! One MH per 2ft of tank is ideal. Not sure what color bulbs you are running, but see the other thread about 20K bulbs... 10K would be best with blue supplement.

I am using 14k hamy right now, and like the color but it's not bright enough for my taste, but as soon as I replace one of the blue actinic with one of the actinic/white the whole tank looks very bright. But for some reason am still not satisfied so am adding another 3 150watt 50k iwasaki in parallel to it and change the 14k hammy to 20k XM. I saw this set up and I can't belive how beautiful the whole tank look.
