Just noticed the dragon theme going on...man I am so jealous...:beer: Cant wait to see what lovely colours they show up being in your tank for a few weeks.

There were a few colonies with the same corals that were more colored up at the store but they were sold. If those are any indication they should indeed be lovely

Nice new batch of stuff Matt. Keep an eye on the file fish. The one I had went after my acans and never touched aiptasia. It got returned quickly.

I'm watching, thanks for the tip. He eats Mysis but so far I haven't seen any Aiptasia eating...he hasn't messed with anything else though.

Thanks! Tax return season is a good time for my LFS, that's for sure! I think I'll get a few more E5 bulbs to give them a shot- I can use them over the Flubber tank at the very least

Will runs an honest store, he just uses the vendor forum since it's easier to post the massive number of corals he has there rather than the website.


Not a fan of clay-boa...it's amateur hour over there and when a nice tank is shown more often than not they accuse the owner of faking the picture. I understand everyone starts with a little knowledge but the misinformation and BS over there can get pretty bad.

Update:
The tank is looking and doing fantastic, its really been easy to deal with. Here are the various things that I can highlight:
1) Lots of fish additions lately, up to 30 fish in the SPS tank and 8 in the Flubber tank.
2) Several new mini colonies/wild colonies added.
3) A little over a week using AF Phosphate Minus - 9 TBSP in a mesh bag in the sump. I replaced the carbon with 500ML fresh carbon this week as well. I really like the AF pellet carbon.
4) Added 2 LED tubes a week ago, They are the "Blue Pop" variety and they look very good.
5) Finished remaining T5 changeout - My current bulb arrangement is:
AA-B+-Blue Pop-FP-B+-C+-C+-C+-C+-B+-FP-B+-BluePop-AA
Its very bright and very white
6) Moved my Siproax and Eheim Substrat media to the first chamber of my sump rather than running it in a reactor.
7) Current Dosing:

5 drops NP Pro morning and night
8 drops Probio S in the morning
7 Drops Micro E each night
3 drops Iodium Each night
3 drops Flourine each night
12 drops Coral B each night

Every other night: 6 drops Coral A and V and 1 drop Strontium
Opposite nights: 6 Drops Coral E

1L Zeolites ~ 100gph flow
500Ml Aquaforest GAC passive flow
9TBSP Phosphate Minus in bag passive flow


8) Latest Test numbers:

NO3: ~10ppm
PO4: 0.05ppm
Mg: 1550
Ca: 450
Alk: 7.0DKH
PH: 8-8.4
Temp: 77-79

The farther forward you put the white or purple bulbs the brighter the tank will look. The order you list will look bluer and dimmer than is my preference. I have the coral plus together but overall I have the white bulbs and blue bulbs spaced as evenly as I could to keep the mix the same as possible from either side while taking into account the dawn/dusk bulbs. It's a bit tricky with an 8 bulb and a 6 bulb together.

The more you mix the whites/purples and Blues the better I think- play around with the order until you like it.

Well I had high hopes for the "white" E5 bulbs, but I was disappointed. I got two "cool white" tubes to try. Perhaps they should call them something else.

Sigh. If you like yellowish green you are in luck
