I've discontinued using the E5 bulbs on the SPS tank- they were causing some corals to darken and perhaps stunting growth. I'm not interested in the LEDs enough to add to the 14 bulbs over the tank, especially since I have seen many reports of the reef brites causing stress to the SPS. Many people use them and like the fluorescence they bring, but I think that the T5s do the best job with color.

Currently, I have the dimmable ATI with all ATI bulbs:

5 x blue plus
1 x purple plus
1 x coral plus
1 x actinic

This is partially your fault by the way.

You won't be disappointed with the results! Just hang them 10 inches above the tank and run the dawn/dusk for 11-12 hours max and all bulbs 6-8 hours max:thumbsup:

For that I would use 5 blue plus, 2 coral plus, one Fiji Purple/Super Purple(or if you have to, Purple Plus). It's all up to your preference though. A richer color can also be had with 6 blue bulbs and two purple bulbs, though I found growth to not be as good.

Fiji purple all the way! I would set it up like so:
c+-B+-b+-fp-b+-b+-c+-b+

Move the coral plus to position 2 if it is too white for you.

Actually I just changed the gels down one shade lighter Amber. The side shots were losing too much blue compared to the eye. I match the gels to make the camera display what my eye sees once I've been in front of the tank for a minute.

Ah, I see this with both bulbs. For me it depends on the combo - sometimes I can have a FP/P+ in the combo, sometimes I can't stand it.

Yep. it's turning pink very slowly...I had to remove a few of the tips that had those barnacles in them - they were messing up the growth and its best to evict them with prejudice now rather than deal with them later.

Not an SPS, but very jealous of your powder blue tang! I had one a long time ago and haven't had a large enough tank since I broke that one down. One of my favorite fish for sure.
