Miacle Mud, worth it or not?

Does anyone use this? From what I read it is GREAT stuff for adding trace elements and for nitrate control. I am considering getting 12 lbs for my sump in the section between the skimmer and return pimp areas, I just added a shop light with a 6500k spiral bult and a small amount of cheato to that section today and wondered about adding mu to it as well.

Most people say it is a waste of money, and has no real value. You will get more trace elements from a good salt mix, that you do your water changes with. IMO. If you want to add something, if it were me I would add live sand, but some people say just add regular sand, and it will colonize itself. I have personaly had positive results with live sand, so I will stick with it. But its not for everyone.

I debated the same thing four months ago, while building my new SPS dominated tank. I ordered the miracle mud, changed my mind and decided to take it back to the store. The store wouldn't take it back.
So, I decided to use the mud. I have a 120g tank with an ADHI 60 sump/refugium with chaeto in the refugium. I used 20 pounds of mud.
I have a heavilly stocked tank. Six medium sized fish and around 25 different species of coral. Mostly SPS.
I'm not really sure what advantages the miracle mud offers. I have tested and tested my water parameters trying to "dial" in the tank. I have yet to find any detectable amounts of nitrates in the tank. That is with out the use of a skimmer. I used two different nitrate test kits, because I couldn't believe the results.
I have a bulk reef supply dual reactor for gfo and carbon.
I am considering adding a skimmer to pull more of the detris out of the tank.
I hope this helps.

I add 5lb of Miacle Mud in sump about year. everything look good before and still look good after I added. (Just want to try something new) but only thing I do diffrent is my skimmer only on 8hrs a day after Miacle Mud was added. Mainly to keep my pH up because that's fresh air from outdoor. I'll use less skimmer if I can open my door or window let fresh air in. I'm not sure is because the mud or my red mangove tree in the sump.

My tank was on total cruise control, almost never had to clean glass.
Added a big HO fuge for pods(back on old 90g) and guy at LFS said I just must get M mud.
On add of mudd, almost next day was cleaning green algae off glass, and about every other day had to keep cleaning till I finally ditched it.
I won't use again.
Plenty of pods w/ just rubble/chaeto in fuge.
