I have a questionor maybe more of an observation. I did a 20 gallon wc tonight. Ive put back in 15 gallons and took a break for a few and when I came back to the tank these little suckers were out everywhere in the open. Ive only ever seen their little legs sticking out. It has been a few months since my last change and out of desparation (I always make my own ro water) I had to buy 10 of the 20 gallons at my local fish store. But not water they haf made up its true ocean water. Would that make these guys come out stretch their legs? One of them is in my hammer coral and spewing something. Spawning maybe? My tank has been up and running since 2011 and ive never seen anything of the sorts before.

I have seen mine once out, the other times just legs. Was the WC the same as your current water...temp salinity etc.

I started out with only a few but by now I have hundreds of these little brittle stars in gravel of my tanks and in the Chaetomorpha fuge. They are seemingly reproducing well in a tank environment. They are beneficial detrivores and not predatory like some of the large ones.
