Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good and fairly economical microscope (or share experiences on ones to avoid). This would be for looking at rotifer/rotifer densities and phyto cultures.
It would be cool if it had a feature to take still shots electronically.
Keep in mind that no standard light microscope is usable at 2500X. And you have to use oil immersion for specimens at 1000X or so. For most biology purposes, the most you'll want to magnify is 500X - 800X, and that's only for fixed (dead) specimens.
