Hello,
I have a 55g FOWLR tank, a little over a year old with the following:
2 clowns
1 chalk bass
1 cleaner shrimp
1 midas blenny
a few hermits and snails (which have been slowly disappearing for the past year for some reason...? started out as like 10 of each now only 3-4 of each)
I just added the midas blenny about a month ago, and he has been super aggressive, particularly toward my chalk basslet. He is constantly chasing him and nipping him. I changed up the live rock and set it up so the rock with his hole (that the blenny hangs out in) is on the side of the tank rather than the middle, and I was hoping that after a month whatever "issues" they needed to sort out would be fixed and they would all live peacefully, but he's still being a bully.
Any advice? I was thinking that if I got a larger fish like a coral beauty the midas blenny might not feel like he's the king of the tank anymore - has this worked for people in the past? I also considered trying the mirror trick. Or should I just take out the blenny and return him? (don't want to do this because he's such a cool looking fish!)
Thanks
