Midas Blenny in Hiding...

I picked up an awesome Blue Midas Blenny yesterday afternoon and he has been hiding out in a cave ever since acclimation.

I got him to eat a few bites of mysis last night but today i am not so sure if he ate, as he did not leave his hiding spot to take a bite. I didnt want to stick the baster down there to target feed cause i don't want him to get freaked out.

This is my first blenny, is this normal behavior?

water params are in check...SPS frags and RBTA are doing great so I am pretty confident it is not a water quality issue. The only other fish are a pair of percs so he is not getting bullied at all.

Give it time to settle in. Do you have a lot of flow? They often like to hover in the streams coming form powerheads, returns, etc..

yeah alot of flow...he didn't make it...I found him dead this morning.

I took him back w/ a water sample today...It's a mystery...

It really sucks, I have never seen such a pretty blue specimen before...

He was in hiding when i picked him out...Didn't even know they had him until the LFS employee told me about him and lifted up his rock...I thought he was hiding out because of the Show size Angels in the same tank...

He was so pretty I chose him over the "normal" Midas who was out and about in another tank..I should have known better I guess.

I wanted one sooooo bad!

Day one, mine jumped into my over flow and jumped out...
Jumped back in a couple of days later, I scooped him out instantlly...
Jumped back in when I was not there four months ago and is still there. ...

TELL ME HOW TO GET HIM OUT!?!?!?!
