Mike's 150g SC Aquarium Build

Also, I did NOT buy the tank off of ebay, i bought it directly from the manufacturer that way I can have customer service if anything should happen.

If you'd like the number of the guy I worked with, send me a PM. very nice guy.

That tank is a piece of crap I'm so disappointed in you mike. I'm gonna swing by this Saturday and pick it up so that you don't have to look at it anymore. You're welcomed that's what I'm here for bud. Just kidding! bro awesome buy.

You're right franky...terrible purchase...please come take this junk away...

Thanks man, i'm very excited about it. I probably wont be able to a basement sump like i hoped but I have a good idea on how to make working in the sump easier and less of a hassle.

Nice tank! Great to see you're back Mike. Must be a relief to have a tank in the house again huh?

Thanks Pat, it is def a relief to have a tank back in the house. Especially the new house. Need to do some planning to see if a basement sump is possible.

Either way, gotta love that feeling of a new build!!!

When is yours being setup?!?!

Of course it's possible you'll just need a few beers and a holesaw. In that order so there's no hesitation as to if it's a good idea or not. I'd be glad to help and can bring the beer. My next build I'm gonna try to avoid the basement sump and have it in a room behind the tank. Purely for saving electricity on the larger return pump I would need. But a basement sump was great last time around. We plan on buying a house in March and I'll start plumbing my tank before I unpack.

Well, there is one little detail I omitted...see where the tank is going, well, it used to be the garage, but they converted the entire area into a living room. So the tank is on a large concrete slab, but the basement are is only a few feet away and the previous owners did put a bathroom off of the living room so there is a way it seems to get piping through there. It would just require drilling through concrete and i'm not too sure how I feel about that, lol.

I also would like to go the less electricity route as well.

Mike, if we build the stand 40"+high . You will have plenty of room underneath for sump skimmer etc , plus eye level viewing .We can throw your Rodi under the bathroom sink.

Stay tuned...

Stay tuned...

Is that sarcasm or?* my feed had not updated and the last comment was mollies and under-gravel filter..

Amazing tank! Alright let's be honest it was you who overloaded the UPS system tracking it every 14 seconds!

Christmas in October !

HAHAHAHA yesss!!!!

Yea I was checking the tracking pretty regularly...but unfortunately it just said, leaving California...and never had another update until they called me for the appointment.

I'm very excited about...looking at the stand build next ;)

If you could use an extra set of hands I would love to help out! I'm picking up my 72 bow front tomorrow and I don't think there are many things better than a new tank build.

So happy for you! Can't wait to see that thing a full on piece of the reef!

PM me for my number if you need an extra set of hands

Got a few Stand and sump quotes, now I just need to finalize some plans. Gonna be a slow build. Once I have all the pieces i will post a proper build thread :)

Cycle it you don't need a stinking sump just fill it below the overflow grate put some sand and aquascape it and then plumb your sump later at least tank will be ready to rock lol
