Anyone ever housed one of these? I've read they're highly venomous like fire anemones but they look so much better. Any insight on these? Link below, nevermind it doesn't allow me to post a link. It's on reef builders just search mimic anemone.
No one has any feedback on these anemones? I would like to know how they react in an aquarium. Do they move alot? They have a serious sting but don't seem to me like they would move often.
I'm close enough I could pick it up. It's about an hour away from me. I've been considering it but these nems have a seriously potent sting, supposedly more dangerous that a fire nem which is what is causing my hesitation. I just spoke to the owner Will who seems like a great guy and picked his brain since he's had this nem for 2 months. I decided to purchase it and pick it up locally on Saturday so it's much less stress on the anemone. Apparently, the tentacles aren't what stings you, the anemone has a mouth that open up at night like sweepers and actually rotates trying to catch food which I found to be awesome but that is what packs the lethal sting apparently. I'll let ya guys know how it goes Saturday and post some pics.
So I picked this bad boy up tonight. I have to say the Will and the guys at njcoralsdirect.com have some seriously healthy fish and corals. I just got home and noticed in the bag the nems mouth is open, like sweepers it's crazy and scary looking lol. I'll post some more pics when he's settled in. I have to move some rocks around to accommodate the mimic and make sure he's away from everything. I really dislike how you don't have the ability to just attach your photos but rather upload to another website. Thumbs down on that one RC.
Dude, that things is awesome, is it the one that was posted for sale? Bright red? Cant wait to see it settled in, keep this thread updated, ive never even seen or heard of these before
Some pics of him in the tank but the high flow needs to be adjusted, I may need to add some rocks to lower flow in his area. I tried to feed him some brine but he didn't take it. The seller said he loved rotifers so I wonder if it's more of a filter feeder anemone!?
