Mind Sharing what filtration your using?

is this skimmer a hang on back? do i need a sump? or is this just an independent hob skimmer?

i dont have a sump, im a sump dummy, i cant figure out what to buy or even set one up, which is why im sumpless :lol:

but that skimmer looks cool, and if i dont need a sump for it then i might buy it

You dont need a sump, people over at the eq section says they have always heard positive things about the company. It is one sweet hang on skimmer. Well you still have other choices like the tunze or even the odyssea ps160. But stay away from remoras they are built by hand thus having a inconsitancy of skimming, its a hit or miss. I wonder who here runs more than just one skimmer?

Well I can't run a hang off the back because it's a tank in the middle of the room... and I can't have lots of lines running down, because of the same reason.

And I know I said it was against a wall, but it WILL be in the middle of the room as of thursday.

if you carry out weekly water changes then theres no need for a skimmer
a skimmer helps but its not mandatory

On my 55gallon fish only tank, I use a fluval404, a prism skimmer,a 9wturbotwist uv sterilizer . In the 304,I keep carbon, ceramic media and polypad in the basketts. On my reef system I have used carbon for four years and keep a purple tang, a hippo tang and a yellowtang and a scopas with no problems.
