Sirreal63, you bring up good points, but bottom line, if you think it's a scam, you'll have NO problem suing them.

After all, like I said, if it's a scam, why does nobody care enough about the people in the hobby to get a suit going? Instead they "just let them decide for themselves"?
As a lawyer who specializes in suing people, I can tell you that a lawsuit would not be effective at all under a false advertising claim. The first amendment provides some VERY strong protections for marketers.

As for MM: What exactly is the "problem" its solving? And if it does indeed solve the problem, where is the objective proof? (Not anecdotal).
There is lots of anecdotal evidence in this thread stating tank ABC or person XYZ uses this stuff and their tank looks amazing therefor its the MM. Conclusion does not follow from premise. Some of the most amazing tanks I've ever seen have used MP60s. Can I conclude that the flow from the MP60s must be the difference maker?
I take no position on its effectiveness or ineffectiveness. But it seems anecdotal evidence stating "ive used it for years and my tank is amazing" does not necessarily justify adding it to the system for a new person reading this thread.

That's pretty much what most of us are trying to say.
And even those of us who have used it, and can keep an open mind, can't really say one way or the other. There's just too many variables at play. But one would think that if it did make a major difference, one would notice.

This one would be a perfect example of one a moderator should just lock.
I know some excellent lawyers, and many that just need to go away, same can be said for doctors, truck drivers, reefers and virtually any segment of the population. I would just hate to see a lot of useless litigation in this hobby, perhaps because I still see the fun in the hobby.
I setup my sump with 10 lbs of miracle mud about a three weeks ago and I bought some chaeto macro algae and I can see how this algae just love this substrate is so green and it has grown so much compared to the other sumps with regular sand, so it seems like the miracle mud might just be to fertilize the macro algae on our refugiums and hence help the system export nitrogen byproducts, and this will then benefit our tank inhabitants. My two cents

I am thinking of using a mud type substrate when I set up a remote refugium for mangroves. I am skeptical of its uses beyond that for sure. It seems that all of these great tanks that use it (Paletta ect) are buddies with each other and make videos together which makes me think they either stand to hurt their friendship saying bad things about their friends product, or have something to gain from the products success. Just my thoughts. I'm sure there's other great tanks using the product but who knows if that's the main reason why
