I thin the MP10 is an excellent PH for this small tank. Right now I have it set at 80% reef crest mode. In tank that is 36 inches or longer I would have use 2 on opposite ends of the tank. This would fully take advantage of the other modes the Vortech software provide for this pump. Price wise, it is expensive, but I was not going to skim on taken care of this animal after looking for a healthy one for so long. Also If I have to buy 4 PH it is about at the same price. The thing is that I have already have these pumps. If you forget the price, you will be happy with this pump.
In the past I have to use about 4 PH to get the flow needed for my Magnifica in this tank (as in the picture) 4 PH plus the pump for the skimmer. (Upper L corner have a PH also.)

I bet you guys (and gals) never seen these tentacles before, two tentacles that merger together and form one tip. It must been injured and heal abnormal. In many years of reefkeeping and anemone keeping I have never seen one like tin the picture below

6 weeks in my tank, the anemone is doing really well. I started to feed him again but not very often, maybe once a week. I got some trout eggs from sometime ago, he seem to like that a lot. I also feed him shrimp. He is about 12 inches at this time, likely bigger than that but really folded in the rock crevice that I placed him in. He have not move very much at all since I placed him there many weeks ago. Because he seem to be happy and not moving, I removed the cover of my MP10.
Below are side by side pictures of the first week and this AM. I think he is out of the wood. If he died now it is all my fault not due to stress and injury from before I got him

BTW, While the tank looks new, It actually have been set up as a anemone quarantine tank for at least 2 years. I did not do much with it except for added top off water for the last year and harvest Macro Algae so they don't go sexual on me. I clean it up by removed all the algae (used forceps to pick as much macro algae as I can) vacuum the sand and did a 100% water change. Run it for an additional week before put the anemone in.
fishmanstan, I consider the money I paid for this anemone money well spend. This is a very difficult anemone to get healthy. Thanks

Looks great! I am one of those who have tried gigantea a few times (3 I think) with the same bad ending, so I certainly wish you the best of luck with it! You are fortunate just to have a healthy gig in ANY color...

Definitely can tell the zooxanthellae populating from the tip to the rest of the anemone. Looking healthy.

I got home today. The anemone just look so healthy and doing well that I just have to take a picture. The tentacles are all very long and shaggy, many near the mouth are more than 1 inch long and others are near 1 inch near the edge of the oral plate.
It is really stiff and hold it shape well against a lot of current.

Congrats again. I'm so happy to see a healthy gig. I've gone through the experience of trying to get a sick gig to pull through and the results weren't favorable. But, I think it takes that kind of experience to truly appreciate a healthy gig.

I think there is a lot of truth in what you said. I have read a few time that this reefer or that reefer got rid of their Gigantea because they got bored of it (there is at least one here on reefcentral). This always cause me to turn green with envy. After a few failure, this Gigantea got to be the most rewarding animal I keep so far. I hope he will continue to do well.

I notice that the pics you took of your yellow mag seem to be more white with a hint of blue and the pics of the Gig seem to be more yellow/green. Any reason for that? Just curious.
