mini carpet moved..need help.

i have had a mini carpet in my tank for about 6 months now...been in the same spot since i placed him...never left the rock he came in on...

the rock is kind shaded by a every so quickly growing birdsnest...and i think he is looking for more light now...but he stopped under a ledge...litterally...he is stuck to the bottom side of the ledge and a large rock...pretty close to 0 light...decent flow though...

i was feeding him anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week...a mixture of squid, mysis, cyclops, rotifers, and baby brine

i had a minor fluctuation in ph and alk, as the kalk dripped to fast into the tank..i usually add about 2liters a day of saturated kalk as my top off...that day it went in in about 3 hours...

i am not sure if it is a light issue or if it just got ****ed about the parameter swing...

but he has been under the rock for 2 days now and i am getting worried....

should i force him out? with a power head? he is directly in front of my closed loop that is turned off...but i could fire it up again if i had too....

should i wait it out a couple more days...?

i can see very little of him...what i can see is still very colourful and inflated.

please help a concerned aquatic citizen...

UPDATE...

my fully squished 20 gallon mixed reef nano plus an anemone is no more....:(

it is now a fully squished 20 gallon nano plus TWO anemones... :celeb1: :spin1:

i went to bed last night and i could not see him at all...dishearten i i went to bed...left for work at 3 am ...so no lights no see nem...

get back from work and i found the little guy mangled on top of the rock he was once under....i thought he was a gonner andmy shrimp was ripping at him...then i looked over to see another mangle little guy...i was over whelmed with joy to see this...both have moved to the middle of the tank in full sun...and have in the last hour come completely appart from one and other and have already circled back around as well..i cant believe how fast they can do this...wish the batteries werent dead in my camera...

in one of thier journeys they stung the poop out of my birdsnest that was shadowing them from the get go...i guess that was kinda ironic retribution...LOL

i have since snaped the birdnest off trying to clean the glass so i will have to move him now anyway...

Very nice! I guess the reason it started moving around (your first post) was in preparation to assexually divide. Glad for you.

That's awesome. I know how I feel when My BTAs disappear and divide. But a carpet that looks like that? Sweet!
