miniatus grouper question

In Memoriam
so I just got a miniatus grouper about 3 days ago. he is about 4 inches in length, and I have seen him eat/

He hides much of the day in the rock, but today when I went to see tank, he was perched up on live rock, looking dead. As I got closer, he saw me and swam back to hide, but I did notice he wasn't as vibrant as he was when I got him. Almost like some parts of his body were almost white. Maybe not white, but a definitely lighter shade of red.

My other fish seem ok, could this be normal, for a fish this small (4 inches) or could there be something else going on?

I used to have one some years back, and it either hid in its own personal cave, or was perched up on a rock.Completely normal for yours to do that.Mine used to change colors every once in a while, especially when my yellow tang swam too close to its cave.

Make sure your Nitrates are in check just to be safe and make sure the fish is not stressing from something wrong in the tank.

Good luck with the grouper, it is a fantastic fish.

Typical grouper behavior.

By the way, we only allow one user name per person. So I'll close out your other account for you, since you seem to have changed names.
