Missing Clownfish

We just noticed the larger of the two clownfish has disappeared. We have looked all around tank and behind it. Can clownfish jump out? The only other possibility if he jumped out is for the dog to have ate it. Could he/she be hiding in rocks having babies? it's been gone for 2 days now. I have also looked in the sump.

Check your overflow box. Any fish can jump, but clownfish aren't particularly known for it.

I've had fish go from swimming to nothing but a tail bone in less than 30 minutes do to a good CUC. Hopefully this is not your case, I've never had one jump out or hide, especially during feeding. They are not shy fish. I did have one that would hide in overflow until he grew to fat to fit though teeth.

I have found clowns in my overflow many times as well, I have had 2 go down my overflow and end up in a filter sock (what a ride)

If she isnt there unfortunately she has most likely died somewhere, clowns dont usually hide

I have looked in overflow several times with a flashlight. Hmmm, I did not think of CUC being that good. I had thought it would show up at feeding time. Maybe I will win some of those fancy clowns at MACNA next week

all fish jump. a secure hood is important. if he is dead in your rocks he could foul the water.

Is it possible a rock anemone could have devoured the clownfish. They do like silversides?
