Do mantis shrimp grow back the smashing appendages, if it is missing.

It will slowly grow back with each molt. It takes a couple of molts, but it should return to normal size.

It will take at least three molts to be functional and four to be full sized. Depending on the size of the animal this will take 6 to 9 months.

Thanks for the info,I just got him today. His name is booger ,he is approx 1.5 long . I got him from casshoward, I think dr roy id him as n. wennera. from another thread.

At that size, regeneration will be faster. It will probably take about 4 months to get back a functional rapt.
