Mixing Anthias Species

Phish Lover
Can I mix a bartlett with a couple different species of anthias? I had two bartletts die and I like the look of some different ones. Will they not get along? The one I have is still a female and about 3'' max. What species if any would you recommend?

Bartletts can be quite aggressive. I don't have any in my tank for that reason. There are other Anthias that are aggressive as well but you would still be taking a chance of loosing your bartletts and whatever Anthias you attempt to add. That is when your bartletts becomes male which will happen eventually.

I had 8 different anthias Bartlett harem are good in the group no problem
Randall's, ignitus , dispar, red stripe ,bicolor and squareback keep to their self
Lyretail changing male kills 2 male ,5 females and other Anthias so this are the only one I am not happy with.
Good luck

Long term (years) I had the best success with lyretails, dispar and ignitus mixed together. Notably tricolor and Bartlett were not good in the mix. My tank is only 150g though...

I've steered clear of the Bartletts from past experience. They all ended up male and fought constantly. I hope the tri-colors don't start.

So far I have a setup very similar to brad. I have a pair of borbs, one sunset, three aurulentus, and will be adding 4 ventralis. The only one that can be a bit aggressive is the sunburst.

Brad how are the other fish towards the ventralis?
