Mixing Sands?

I was trying to make a 4 inch deep sand bed and i thought the 2 inches i had already was caribsea sugar fine so i bought just enough to achieve another inch of that and then enough special grade sea flor for another inch on the top. Once i recieved it today i realized the stuff i already had was sea flor and not sugar fine so is it alright to mix the sugar fine with my already live 2 inches of sea flor and then add my new sea flor on top of that?

Its ok to mix sand sizes, however I wouldn't go any deeper than 2" at the most unless you want a deep sand bed in which case you need to go a full 6" and maintain a consistent grain size.
