mixing sea horses?

Mixing species is NOT recommended. If you must then make sure they come from the same breeder as it will give you a better chance of success.
However, your 34g tank is not large enough to put two pair in unless you have a large enough sump and/or rufugium hooked up to it.
Seahorses need a large volume of water because of their "dirty" feeding habits.
They don't eat all the food for starters, and the excess if not removed in time can be problematic, and, when they snick the food, they masticate it and expel water and minute particulate matter through the gills and into the water.
Another problem you might run into is water temperature and possibly even pH problems as the hood contains the heat to transfer to the water and less ventilation can mean not enough gas exchange at the surface of the water.

Mixing sea horse species or multiple pairs is not a problem. As long as they share similar needs or all the needs as met.

Before anyone starts doing the mixing of species, or even same species from different breeders, please do more investigation.
While it has been and is being done, the odds are against long term success.
It is not their needs so much, but rather their ability to handle the new pathogens that each encounters. Some luck in, most don't.
