Mixing SPS together

I have seen some amazing tanks with different types of SPS very close together. Are there certain SPS I should avoid putting close together? The reason I ask is recently I noticed my green birds nest was slimming very badly where it was almost touching my orange monti cap. I trimmed the GBN back and all is good now. I am starting to add more SPS and want to make sure I don't place incompatible species next to one another.

Two things will happen when you have SPS that start to get to close: 1) one/both will sting the other/each other; and 2) One will eventually grow over the other. I think the best policy is to leave enough space between SPS. They may start to grow fast and then you will end up with problems.

ime leave space to keep them not touching but I've also had two types of stags touch and heal together

You can Rodmad but you need to keep alot of distance for example i leave my lps at the bottom half of my tank where the flow is alot less while my sps are on the upper half. Its the only way i can do it with out ripping lps flesh.
