I ordered them from fleabay straight from China. Free delivery in 9-30 days but showed up in a week.

Moved everything to the new tank this weekend. Did the best I could with the rocks I already had. Using a Rubbermaid as a sump while I modify my old sump to use temporarily while I build my new sump. 4ft light on a 6ft tank sucks! Too many projects right now and I need to shift to the pool for a while. Also have a leak in my pond somewhere so I need to track that down. Coming along though.

tank

That container your using for a sump may give you troubles. Do to it's not food grade materiel.

I'm going to hope a week won't cause to many issues at this point

The red planet I picked up at the swap RTN'd today so it apparently did not like the tank swap. It's been doing great along with the other sticks I bought. Everything else seems ok so far. Threw a bag of carbon in tonight on the chance the Rubbermaid is causing issues. I'm almost done with the temporary sump so I'm sure I'll have it in by Saturday.

Guess I should have just moved the sump as is but it seemed like a good time to have some fun and upgrade it.

That sucks about the coral but at least it's common and can be replaced easily.

It's still holding on to a few polyps so you never know. The slimmer behind it is pushing out tips and growing great though.

Upgraded the sump I bought from tanksdad. Glued in the sock holder, didn't work for **** just sitting there. Then added pass through connections for ATO and dosing. Even made the skimmer section adjustable so I don't need to raise the skimmer so high. Still want to add heater brackets but I need to make a template so I can cut a few that match. Hopefully the next owner of this sump will like where I placed everything. Hope to install this weekend if I can get the pool house completed.

Well I coasted through the summer without much work on the tank. I didn't give it enough attention for the corals to do much growing. Water changed and maintenance every 2 weeks and let the auto feeder do it's thing. I do think I starved the tank a bit as a result. The fish are fat and happy but the coral didn't do anything. Except the setosa which grew quite a bit. Quarantining the fish takes forever and I managed to get 9 fish through the process. 2 more in QT now. Lost several to what appeared to be velvet but it didn't get to my tank this time. I bought acrylic to build a new sump but the one I modified is working fine so I may not bother.

My wife does not care for the thought of buying small corals and letting them grow so I'm going to try to find a few large ones to make her happy then slowly sneak in little pieces. Need to set the coral QT back up. If I can find a few large SPS pieces I may try the dip and dunk method on those.

I am going to have to do something about lighting as I am still using an 8 bulb 4 foot t5 light on a 6 foot tank.

I have done quite a bit since my last post on this one. Still need to replace the original crown molding on top of my tank but it is definitely coming together. Installed the Algae scrubber I built finally and harvested the first batch of algae off it this morning. Have a bit of a weird algae bloom right now but I'm not overly concerned about it. The biggest issue I have is the bubble algae. Can't seem to get rid of that. I bought Vibrant but afraid to use it so far. I'm hoping the algae scrubber can outpace it but we will see. Most corals I have added are doing well and now that I added 2 part to the system and a DOS they are starting to grow. Should have added that day 1! Probably not Pizza Night worthy yet but I'll get there.

My biggest win has probably been finally figuring out the whole QT process with fish. I have now moved a dozen fish through the process with success. Still have 4 Chromis in QT but they appear to be cured of Uronema so within a month I'll add them as well.

I think growth has been fairly good. The German Blue is a bit fragile so I have accidentally made 3 frags from it already.

Do these not display correctly? I uploaded through Safari but they look fine to me on iPhone.

Weird, on my iPhone in Tap Talk you do not have to click on them. In Safari on my Mac you do.

I was viewing it in Chrome when I took that screenshot I typically don't view the Forum in Tapatalk. I only use it for making post and uploading content.
