Modern Reef Aquariums

Hello guys,

You are too kind. Thank you.

Marc, yes, indeed you have them. I understand why you don´t choose the coloured loc-lines when you have the black ones. In a black background and black overflow, a black loc-line would be more discrete, thus, aesthetically better. The coloured ones are more difficult to pass by undetected but, after a while, we get used to it and look more into the tank than into the dispersors. Still, I am only 100% happy with it when I have much more inside the tank to look at, besides rock.

Puttyman, no, I have not sent this tank to Amano´s Contest because I set it up in September. Maybe I´ll sent it in 2009, if has matured enough until then.

This year´s contest, I have sent this one:

ReefWaters, yes, you can see more info and step-by-step photos of my current FW tank in my Blog. Here goes the link -
" 112L Planted Tank"

Kigs, sure. Here it is. The picture was taken in 23th October. I do have updated ones in the camera ( taken a couple days ago) that I have to pass to the computer and proceed edition. I will do that as soon as I have some time. I will then post here.

And, with this post, I hope I am not doing too much off-topic and ruining the thread. I wouldn´t want that.

Regards,
André

all I can say is wow! I am going to look away now before I end up setting up a planted tank.

curious - got me to the tatto site but it was offline - are you saying you painted it?

justinpsmith, I thought you tank wasn’t level for a moment until I realized it was just a wave. Nice tank/setup.

I was about to say is that tank really that "unlevel", then I saw the tunze in the corner. Love those wave boxes. I would love to get one for my local species shoreline tank, but they are just too expensive for my budget. Cool tank though, looks great.

Justin, that's a great upgrade from what you had. The room hasn't changed much, but I like the look of this tank more.

Yeah it really is a nicer fit with the room. I think this thread really inspired me to work hard on this build. I am pretty proud to say its all DIY too!

Justin, I'm always so inspired by your tank and your living room. Do you still keep the porcupine puffers?
