UPDATE FROM THE DEAD!
Hello all, I have some photos and updates for the interested.
It has been some time since I last updated, but not much has changed. Just normal growth as we'd expect
Let's see.. first of all:
I automated my auto top off, which is good (RO runs into a bucket w/ float valve, bucket has PH in it w/ float switch in sump, so nothing is needed for perfect levelling!). The float switch was purchased from
http://www.floatswitches.net/ and I also purchased their new holder. You heat this strip of plastic up, it then becomes plyable. Then you wrap it around your sump till it cools and hardens becoming the perfect mold (

http://www.floatswitches.net/ were awesome and their products have so far been great.
After that I just let the tank sit. I added some more fish (Flame, and 4 chromis). That will probably be it for the tank. I seem to have plenty of swimming action going on, and I think the bioload is a fair amount.
3 weeks ago I added a gorgonian.. (
http://www.d3f.org/misc/fish/90g/25-gorgonian.jpg 2-3 hours after acclimation). In two weeks, I had new growth from the guy (
http://www.d3f.org/misc/fish/90g/28-gorg.jpg take a look at the base). With this realization, I decided that the tank was ready for some SPS.
1 week ago I added the first SPS and I am very excited! I purchased 1 orange monti. cap, 1 green w/ purple fringe monti. cap, 1 orange monti digita, and 1 blue tort (
http://www.d3f.org/misc/fish/90g/27-acro-tort.jpg). I need to take a photo of the others, oops
Anyways, all is doing well. I will be doing a major cleaning tomorrow on the faux sand bed (which seems to require far more upkeep than a normal sand bed due to things settling, and algae growing on it). I probably should have saved my full tank shot until AFTER I cleaned up, but o well
Here is the tank as of tonight:
Happy reefin'!
