Montgomery Frag Swap

It's official. Mark your calendars. We will be hosting the first Montgomery area frag swap on October 25th. It will be at the Drury Inn at the intersection of I-85 and Eastern Blvd (exit 6 on I-85), just north of the interstate. If you would like to set up a table, contact me and I will get you penciled in and on the chart. There will be a $10 table charge. Tables are 6'x2'. We hope to see you there.

That's awesome. I've always wanted to go to a frag swap, but they're always either too far or school gets in the way. Maybe I can actually make it to this one and meet some of you guys, if you don't mind.

Is this just for trading ,or can you come and buy frags. I've never been to a frag swap before

if you have any frags you'd like to sell, you can reserve the table ($10), set up your aquarium and sell your frags. If you don't have any frags to sell, you come and take a look and buy any frags that you want.
This is very new to alot of people here, as we've never had a club set up in our area before, but Gary (gflat65) is experienced at this and I'm just following his guidance!!

Thanks, I don't have any to sell, but I would like to come and pick up some frags. I'll keep checking for the time.

Ahh frag swaps. Expect there to be a lot of frags of all kinds (softie, LPS, SPS, zoas, etc.) at good prices. There may even be some 'collector' pieces. I'm sure some threads will pop up in the next week or two with what many are bringing.

We're hoping to help grow a club here, too, so there will be a table with information on becoming a member. We're hoping this will help draw some locals as well as those from surrounding areas.

If this swap is successful, we will be planning an annual one for the March/April time frame to fit between the other established swaps in the area (MTRC and ETRC). That time of year is pretty bare right now in regards to swaps.

Frag 'Swap' is typically a misnomer. Most people will be selling (until the end when the frenzy kicks in and no one wants to take home what they brought). Many may be willing to trade, depending on what you have, but I'd expect most tables to be sale tables.

I am new to the hobby, I have some exp with FW, not a whole lot with Marine. My tank is finally up and cycling now. Nope, I don't have a lot in it, but this frag swap may give me the chance to get something to put in it. It should be cycled by the time the swap rolls around. Hope to meet some if not all of you there. Oh by the way what time does it start?
